Download the Raspbian lite/Raspberry Pi OS Lite image and flash to an SD card for the Raspberry ( now provides a tool for most platforms to simplify this process). The most stable setup will require your RPi be connected via ethernet cable. PiHole also maintains logs so you can see what domains are being requested/accessed by clients on your network. You can add additional domains that you want to block using the “blacklist” functionality in PiHole and conversely unblock domains or specific subdomains using. The units are designed to work together and allow you to build a system that suits your needs reasonably inexpensively.
